Read more about this important ASM committee: More... In 1934 when Roger Tory Peterson published his first field guide, he set the standard for all the other field guides that have followed. One thing that I found a bit unusual was that there is no OK or Cancel buttons on these selection screens. I prefer a guide that has all the species information on the same page; illustration, descriptiontext and range map. I'd have the on-plate ID pointers and maps from Morcombe, artwork from Simpson and Day (corrected for orientation) and the text would be a combination of Morcombe and Pizzey and Knight with a smattering of the good bits from Slater.
